Founded in 1974, Bread for the City is a nonprofit organization aimed at assisting Washington, DC’s low-income residents by providing food, clothing, medical, and legal and social services. With two separate centers – one in the Northeast and one in the Southeast – Bread for the City serves over 52,000 DC residents annually.
RH Steel Erectors completed work on the new Southeast Center, which will address the needs of communities with a poverty rate three times higher than that of the rest of the District. This project entailed expanding a 9,000 square foot space to a 27,650 square foot space – where RH was responsible for the installation of all structural and miscellaneous steel.
